Professional Services
In the professional services environment, everyone is a contributor. Everyone is involved in the timely production of the “product” – it can’t be stockpiled. Whereas the production cycle in some industries can tolerate being segmented into parts to facilitate relocation, a professional services firm must typically be moved in a single phase. Because professional service firms often retain massive amounts of paper files and books, plans must allow for the organization of these items. To keep the production on track for as long as possible, there is a compelling need to produce and distribute a comprehensive hour-by-hour schedule at the time of actual relocation. Many firms opt to establish a small full-service office during the move to support those personnel who are working against tight deadlines and must have access to other staff and equipment.
