Q:
How do you merge two disparate technology systems into a third, streamline
your facilities, and meet federal regulations, all without impacting customer
service?
A:
By controlling every detail.
Challenge:
In our first project for Sovereign, they had six months to consolidate technology
and facilities from Fleet and BankBoston, impacting 3,000 people, 300 branches,
nine corporate and operations properties in four States, and a myriad of technology
upgrades.
Strategy:
Working with corporate and IT management, we built an aggressive three-phased
conversion plan, which mirrored their required conversion schedule, explored
every contingency, and established a clear communications method. We selected
and negotiated with subcontractors, managed architectural, engineering and construction
processes, oversaw technology and network installations, monitored performance,
planned space, reconfigured furniture, and managed the move.
Results:
Sovereign transitioned to one entity with advanced communications systems in
place, on time, under budget, with seamless customer service throughout.
Since our initial challenge five years ago, we continue to work with Sovereign,
handling every aspect of their merger/acquisition transitions. We’re proud to
be a part of Sovereign’s growth strategy.
